The quarterly assembly of Arabic voiceover professionals that takes place in the heart of the region
Back in 2019, right before COVID-19 emerged, El Hakawaty (the storyteller) team initiated a public call to host a periodic meetup for Arabic voiceover professionals and artists at THE ARABIC VOICE™ studios HQ in Cairo.
Some of the most esteemed voiceover artists and coaches in Los Angeles like Dave Fennoy, and Elaine Clark have remotely contributed through the first editions of the meetup, right after the pandemic fog is lifted, the meetup came back to light in its sixth edition and opened a free discussion arena for some of the most worrisome issues to newbie voice over professionals and even for well-esteemed artists throughout Egypt and the Arab world like pricing and setting reasonable and competitive rate chart, where Ahmed AlQotb has suggested his new pricing theory entitled: The Metric Unit for the first time ever.
A theory that lays down an economical technique to bypass the currency exchange rate conflicts, and overcome inflation turbulences reaching out to a reasonable pattern to create and update local rate charts upon depending on reference rating systems suggested by foreign resources like: Bodalgo, Global Voice Acting Academy or Gravy for the Brain.
The simple gathering we initiated back in 2019 has been emerging rapidly through 2022 and 2023 evolving into a general assembly of voice over professionals, veteran voice artists and producers from all over Egypt and the Arab world. Attendants cam from Alexandria, Damietta, Upper Egypt, Lebanon and Syria and veteran Arabic voice over artists theatrical and dubbing actors have been engaging remotely and on-stage, among which our Legendary High Advisor H.E. Jihad Al-Attrash, and outstanding Egyptian glorious voice Mr. Essam Seif in addition to our beloved partners Asim El Sayed of Aanadel, Mona Shaarawy the shining female Egyptian promo voice and Moataz Saqr of Rowah
In the latest 9th edition that took place back in March a few vital topics have been discussed among which the most prominent features of Arabic audiobook markets, production phases, strategic aspects and it’s reference rate patterns considered globally and regionally.
The Storyteller (الحكواتي) is now a considerable domestic initiative that paved the way to establish a strong, skilled and intellectual community for Arabic voiceover professionals
