New Coaching Experience

According to my point of view and personal experience, 24 hours of voiceover coaching was not enough to form a new squad of voiceover acting professionals, however it was a very good starting point in my humbled opinion, said Ahmed AlQotb..

I told them more than once, Ahmed says, you have a good car, I taught you how to drive and shown you the way, now it’s your role to take it from there and drive your way to your destination you are aiming to reach.. the same example I heard a few days later from our teacher and role-model Mr Essam Seif.

For me, voiceover teaching and coaching is usually a tough experience that drains my powers, that’s why I’m not usually getting so excited when I am called to design and/or provide any new training program. This time there were some different measures that lead me to reconsider the situation.

The kind initiation and support I got from one of the most prominent Mass Communication professors, the appreciation and plaudit I got from a deep-rooted academic institution like Cairo University were stronger than me!

The final outcome? well.. I’m not a magician and they weren’t a group of imps, however, I’m satisfied that I left behind a team of University and Post Graduate students talking about Stanislavski, Character Archetypes and Character building elements.. and yes, they now know the significance of Arabic language and the real business opportunities laying behind voiceover performance in a pure classical language.

٢٤ ساعة تدريبية لم تكن كافية في رأيي لصناعة فريق من المحترفين، لكنها كانت نقطة انطلاق لا بأس بها أبدًا في رأيي المتواضع.. قلت لهم غير مرة، أنت لديك سيارة لا بأس بها أبدًا، أنا علمتك القيادة، ووضعتك على بداية الطريق، وعليك أنت أن تقود حتى تصل إلى غايتك.. وهو المثال نفسه الذي سمعته بحذافيره من أستاذنا Essam Seif بعدها ببضعة أيام! شخصيًا، تجربة تقديم برنامج تدريبي عادة ما تكون مرهقة ثقيلة علي، لكن مبادرة هذه الأستاذة الفاضلة ودماثتها Nashwa Akl والحفاوة التي قوبلت بها في صرح عريق كجامعة القاهرة.. كانت كلها أقوى مني..النتيجة؟ حسنًا.. لست ساحرًا، وليسوا نفرًا من الجن.. لكن حسبي أني تركت من ورائي زمرة من طلبة الجامعة والدراسات العليا وهم يتحدثون عن ستانسلافسكي والـArchetypes وعناصر بناء شخصية الأداء.. و.. نعم، قد عرفوا للسان العربي قدره، وأدركوا عمق الأثر البالغ لإلمامهم بعلوم لغتهم الأم وإجادتهم التحدث بلسانها.شكرًا لكل من استمسك بحبال الصبر واستمع إلي أربعًا وعشرين ساعة كاملة، لا أكاد أتخيل كيف فعلوها!! وشكرًا للأستاذة الكريمة د. نشوى عقل Nashwa Akl على هذه المبادرة العزيزة، وعلى كل عون قدمته لي ولإتمام هذا البرنامج، وشكرًا من أعماق القلب، لكل فرد في أسرة كلية الإعلام بجامعة القاهرة ذلك الصرح الذي لا يكاد يدانيه في عراقته صرح آخر في مسرح الشرق.
